Im training for marathon number 3 in June and Im running a half this weekend as a tune up race.
Im not sure if the better strategy for this weekend would be to practice my marathon pace or if I should push it and go for a PR.
Since I have started my training (and using Runcoach) my speed and fitness level has increased so Im not really sure what my new marathon pace will end up as.
Great question! I recommend that you run the race with a good effort in mind. Don’t push yourself over the edge, but the race this weekend can be a good bench marker for how you’ve adapted to the training. Once you enter your race result in the system, runcoach will recalculate your schedule based on the effort and provide you with your most current marathon race pace estimate.
